The Story

When it comes to wines of the Mornington Peninsula, one of Australia’s most popular cool-climate regions, there can’t be many more knowledgeable and passionate than Kate McIntryre of Moorooduc Estate. Her father Richard started Moorooduc Estate when she was 10. She studied language and theatre before joining the team at Moorooduc in 2004 as Marketing Manager. Kate is now one of only 341 people worldwide to gain a Master Of Wine (MW) certification and is now largely responsible for the winemaking at Moorooduc.

Kate’s other great passion is champagne!

M+Q Notes

Fruit for the Devil Bend Chardonnay comes predominately from the Osborn vineyard and in 2016, it was one of the earliest vintages on the Mornington Peninsula, resulting in lovely fruit ripeness and acidity.  Layers of lemon pith, beeswax and salted caramel flavours, a wild yeast addition adds a to a full bodied textural palate.
