Herdade do Esporão Pé Branco 2016 - Alentejo, Portugal

The Story

Located near the cork oak forests in Alentejo, Herdade do Esporão grows 40 different grape varieties on 700 hectares of vineyards. They also grow olives, apples and various vegetables on their property. It is one of the oldest wineries to open their cellar doors to the public for tourism in Portugal. Since 1997 when they started their tasting room, they have grown to include restaurants, wine bars, vegetable gardens and vineyards where guests can picnic as well as learn about their vines.

M+Q Notes

This white is a blend of native Portuguese grapes Arinto, Antão Vaz and Perrum. The wine is fruit forward with tropical fruit flavours of pineapple, mango and aromas of white flower. There’s a bit of stony minerality on the palate and notable balanced and fresh acidity.
