Domaine Dominique Piron Blanc 2017 - Beaujolais, France

The Story

14 generations of winemakers make up the long history of Domaine Dominique Piron in the Beaujolais Cru of Morgon. Sustainable viticulture and a focus on biodiversity remains the top priority to the family. As well as making wine from their home region of Morgan, they also make wine from 6 other crus of Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages sparkling and still Chardonnays and Gamay rosé.

M+Q Notes

30 year old Chardonnay vines were harvested for the production of this Beaujolais Blanc. It’s a rare treat - only 2% of wine in Beaujolais is made from Chardonnay. Fermented mostly in stainless steel with some stirring of the lees creating a richness of texture. Tropical fruits and floral notes are pungent on the nose with pineapple, melon and apple on the palate. A bit of white pepper and almond skin add to the complexity of flavours. Ripe acidity and a rounded mouthfeel.
