Dormilona Blanco 2018 - Margaret River, Western Australia

Dormilona Blanco 2018 - Margaret River, Western Australia

The Story

Josephine spent years as a wine consultant in Spain before returning home to WA to start her winery with her family. While in Spain she got the nickname ‘lazy bones’ which is the meaning of Dormilona in Spanish slang. She sources her grapes from her family vineyard and a mix of organic and biodynamic farms around Margaret River. As of 2018 her winery has been Certified Organic. She is a huge believer in trusting her senses when it comes to winemaking and uses as little intervention as possible. No fining, additives and very little sulphites are used which creates pure expressions of the vineyards and vintage.

M+Q Notes

This wine was made from organically grown Semillon fruit from the winemaker’s vineyard in the Wallcliffe region of Margaret River. It’s a combination of whole bunch and skin contact grapes that undergo battonage or lees stirring. The skin contact and stirring of the lees helps create texture in this zesty wine. This Semillon is full of lemon lime, herbal characteristics and refreshing acidity.
