Cellar Tomas Torres ‘Jove’ Tempranillo/Syrah 2016 - Valencia, Spain

The Story

Vicent Tomas and his family have been making wine in the Valencia for over 20 years. His vineyards are all farmed organically, as are his olive grows, fruit trees and gardens. Vicent has always made his wines naturally in part because it is important to him to have wines available for people with allergies, dietary restrictions and people who choose to consume healthier products. His vineyards are planted mostly with Tempranillo, which is locally called Ull de llebre, and the rest is a mix of international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and local grapes like Rosseti and Macabeu. The wines are all made in a tiny cellar dug underneath Vicent’s home.

M+Q Notes

‘Jove’ is a blend of Ull de llebre, more commonly known as Tempranillo, and Syrah. The grapes are farmed organically on the family farm where fruit trees grow and donkeys and rabbits roam. The wine is a medium bodied red with bright red fruits of cherry and raspberry with a bit of earthiness and spice, chewy tannins and freshness from the acidity.
