Elios Modus Bibendi Grillo 2017 – Sicily, Italy

The Story

Elios Modus Bibendi is a young Sicilian winery located in Alcamo, in the province of Trapani. The idea stems from the passion of Nicola and Roberto, two friends in love with their land, who come from different work experiences and decide to take the family farms by hand to develop their potential. Not only producers of grapes and olives, but also of honey in order to close the supply chain. But their great project is that of minimal intervention wine, which is pure expression of the nature and the territory from which the grapes come. This is how Elios Modus Bibendi was born with the strong conviction that the wine should be produced through a natural vinification that excludes invasive interventions and the use of chemical substances. Producing three wines from  native Sicilian grapes; a red wine from Nero d'Avola, Grillo and finally a macerated orange wine thatblend of Grillo, Catarratto, Zibibbo. The first vintage is that of 2015 is our first vintage, in which they have bottled 3200 bottles of white and 3200 of red. These wines are authentic and embody the land from which they come.

M+Q Notes

The Modus Bibendi Grillo is straw-yellow in color. On the nose the aromas recall the taste of the grapes in the vineyard, with a complex bouquet, notes of green tea, balsamic hints and typical plants of the Mediterranean scrub like sage, thyme and mint. In the mouth it is broad, dry, clean, characterized by a perfectly integrated taste. Beautiful closure, excellent persistence.
