2Naturkinder Kleine Wanderlust 2015 - Franken, Germany

The Story

Micheal Voelker’s family winery has been around since 1843 in the town of Kitzingen, about an hour away from Frankfurt in Germany. It wasn’t until after having a six year career in science publishing in New York, London and other places that Michael and his wife Melanie returned home to Kitzingen to make wine. Michael and Melanie discovered natural, additive free wines while living abroad and knew they wanted to figure out how to replicate it back home. They started off small, only making a couple wines and have now grown their range to over 15 wines. Each 2Naturkinder wine is made from organically grown grapes with no filtering, fining or any additions including zero sulphites.

M+Q notes

2Naturkinder makes wine with many grape varieties that aren’t very common outside of Germany and this wine is no exception. Made from 80% Regent and 20% Dornfelder organically grown, hand picked grapes. Flavours of sour black cherry, cassis, wild strawberry and bright acidity. This light bodied red can also be enjoyed with a bit of a chill!
