THE NEW WAVE - SOUTH AUSTRALIA’S RISING STARS
New and interesting wines delivered Australia Wide every month.
South Australia is home to some of the most famous and historic wine regions in Australia. The Barossa, Australia’s best-known wine region is synonymous with big names such as Penfolds, Wolfblass and Henschke but, over the last fifteen years or so, South Australia has also seen a substantial rise in young and innovative producers. Some are putting their own spin on existing winemaking traditions while others are moving away from traditional methodologies. One winemaker, Brad Hickey from Brash Higgins winery, is making minimal intervention organic wines in the very traditional winemaking region of McLaren Vale.
Some of his wines are produced in clay amphora pots, a method inspired by north eastern Italian winemaking. Our October selection explores this new wave of winemaking from a very traditional wine state. This month we are showcasing wines from the best-known wine regions of the state including Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and Eden Valley.
These wines showcase just how hip South Australian wine can be.
Every month our subscription packs follow a theme; it’s a bit of fun and opens up a whole new world of wine.
