Ingrid Groiss ‘Hasenhaide’ Rosé 2016 - Weinviertel, Austria

Ingrid Groiss ‘Hasenhaide’ Rosé 2016 - Weinviertel, Austria

The Story

Weinviertel, which literally means ‘wine quarter’, is the oldest wine-growing district in Austria, this is where Ingrid Groiss calls home.  Hailing from the town of Breitenwaida, in northeast Austria, near the border with the Czech Republic, Ingrid crafts wines expressive of terroir, keeping with her family’s long tradition of winemaking.  She is supremely passionate about her wines, with sustainable practices in the vineyard and minimal interference of modern technologies in the cellar.

M+Q Notes

Varieties Pinot Noir and Zweigelt which had a short maceration on skins then destemmed and gently pressed. Natural yeast only used in fermentation and maturation in stainless steal. This rosé is bright, refreshing, and balanced between clean minerality and strawberry and cherry fruit aromas.
