The Story

Chris Coulter began his professional career as a chef for restaurants and resorts before switching his focus to winemaking. He started studying while working part as a chef and then was offered a full time position with Australian Vintage Limited in Mildura. He later worked as a winemaker in the Barossa Valley at 1847 Wines at Chateau Yaldara. During his time there he started his own label Coulter Wines and now works on his label full time. Coulter Wines are minimal intervention that focus on expressing purity and cleanliness and there are no additions besides sulphur. Grapes are sourced from various regions in South Australia including Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and Riverland. Chris also has an experimental label called C4 which changes variety and regions every vintage.

Tempranillo fruit from the trophy winning Ricca Terra Vineyard at Loxton. This is the 2nd edition to the C4 Experimental label. Impenetrable dark purple in colour, vibrantly perfumed, dense, rich and gulpable. Simply a whole lot of fun drinking!
