The Story

Brakenwood owner Damon Nagel began as a sommelier in Adelaide and then continued his career at various restaurants in London. He returned home to South Australia in the early 2000s, purchased a vineyard in the Hope Forest region of the Adelaide Hills and started his winery. Damon hired Hungarian winemaker Laz Horvath, who has had winemaking experience all over the world, to manage the vineyards and wine production. The vineyards are farmed with biodynamic practises and the grapes used for the wines are all estate grown and fermented with wild yeast.

 M+ Q Notes

A fresh and bright blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Gamay. Light in body and packed full of aromas and flavours. Cherry, mulberry and earthy notes on the nose that show up on the palate as well as bitter amaro flavours. Juicy acidity and soft tannins. Tastes wonderful when chilled!
