The Story

Sam Vinciullo is a winemaker in Margaret River making very unique and impressive wines. In 2014 Sam came home to Western Australia after spending several years abroad making wine and growing grapes in various places including California and Sicily. Upon his return he started making wine from vineyards that practise organic viticulture. Starting with the 2018 vintage and going forward, all his wines will be from vineyards he farms himself that are dry grown and without the use of chemicals. His winemaking techniques are completely hands-off with no additions including no sulphites added, no fining or filtering and no oak.

M+Q Notes

This Red/White is a blend of 66% Merlot and 34% Semillon grapes grown in Warner Glen. Sam experimented with this uncommon blend of grapes in 2015 and saw such success that he replicated it the next year in 2016. Brambly berries and dark plum are strong components with generous acidity and velvety tannins contributing to the textured, silky mouthfeel.
