The Story

Since 2006, Geraldine and Christophe Pialoux have been making wine at their small domaine in the Upper Loire Valley in Roannaise. They took over the winery and vineyards from a winemaker who was retiring and have been creating promising wines ever since the start of their first vintage. Their vineyards are primarily planted with Gamay, but there are other small plots of grapes including a small amount of Pinot Noir vines that are over 40 years old. They are also in the process of converting to biodynamics and hope to achieve the certification in the coming years.

M+Q Notes

‘Gamenitis’ Gamay is made in the Beaujolais style bursting with tart cherries, ripe raspberries and bright acidity. The wine is very aromatic with scents of plums and earth that jump out of the glass. You can drink the wine chilled down for an even more refreshing glass of this juicy wine.
