The Story

In 1929 Pierre Amadieu was established in the Gigondas region of the Southern Rhône. Pierre was one the first to bottle his wine under the Gigondas appellation and soon after won a prestigious award for his wine. Current day, the winery is led by Pierre Amadieu Jr. who works alongside his other family members including his uncle Claude who is in charge of the vineyards. The age of their vines are around 45 years old and were planted on hillsides with small yields. Special care is taken in the vineyard including hand harvesting and sorting to make sure the best grapes are used for fermentation. The wines are made to be representative of the Gigondas terroir as well has have a density of flavours and complexities.

Made with Grenache and Syrah grapes grown on chalk and clay soils. Blackberry, violet and baking spices on the nose. Black pepper, baked plum, cassis on the full bodied palate with firm tannins that gives this wine a powerful richness.
