Hecht & Bannier Languedoc Rouge 2016 - Languedoc, France

The Story

Founded by négociants Gregory Hecht and François Bannier in 2002 with an aim to create wines showing Mediterranean typicity that are balanced and fresh. They work closely with vine growers in the appellations Roussillon, Languedoc and Provence who are mostly all certified organic. After fermentation they gather samples from the three appellations and create their blends which usually come from 5-10 different sources. All of their blends are a combination of grapes except for their Maury made entirely from Grenache Noir.

M+Q Notes

A blend of mostly Syrah with Grenache and Carignan made in concrete tank. Red fruits dominate with spicy undertones. Baked cherry pie and raspberry tart aromas with red currant, plum, cracked pepper and black tea on the palate. Medium bodied with silky tannins and a balanced structure.
