The Story

Gonzalo Gonzalo, the winemaker’s name - not a typo, grew up in the famous Rioja region of Spain. He studied oenology and traveled around Europe before settling back in Spain to start his winery. He’s very well known in the region for his biodynamic, low intervention wines. Gonzalo doesn’t like to follow the appellation rules so you won’t see Rioja on the label since it is very unlike many wines of the region. He doesn’t add chemicals, fine, filter and only adds small amounts of sulphur.

M+Q Notes

Gran Cerdo (Great Pig) was named after the initial bankers who wouldn’t loan Gonzalo Gonzalo money because they didn’t think wine was a seizable asset. Read more on the label for the full ode/jab! Made with whole bunch Tempranillo from biodynamic fruit. Juicy, fresh and chewy. A bowl of red fruits like raspberry, cherry and red currant. Dried herbs, earth and subtle spice. Soft tannins meld with crunchy acidiy.
