The Story

Founded in 1870 by Francesco Rinaldi upon inheriting property in the town of Barolo, this traditional estate has been on par with the greatest wineries in the area. With vineyard parcels within the crus of Brunate and Cannubi, it's no surprise that Rinaldi Barolos are top-notch, but Paola Rinaldi also makes some killer Grignolino and Dolcetto - the only other grapes grown aside from Nebbiolo. Most wineries have these grapes planted on the weakest parcels, but this Dolcetto d’Alba is from vineyards located within the Barolo district of Cannubi. An atypically serious Dolcetto, the 'Roussot' has the ability to age for another 10 years.

Full-bodied, dry. Densely fruited yet classically styled, this elegant Dolcetto has a highly fragrant nose with a palate of dark berries and violet. The moderately tannic finish is accented with notes of earth, tobacco, and tar.
