Domaine Rimbert ‘Cousin Oscar’ Cinsault 2015 - Languedoc, France

The Story

25 years ago Jean-Marie Rimbert moved from his hometown of Provence to Languedoc to manage vineyards at Château de Flaugergues. After 5 years he purchased a plot of Carignan vines and Domaine Rimbert began. He now owns 40 different sites spread across 20 hectares with various grape varieties including Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre. One of his sites, Berlou, is the only schist vineyard in the St. Chinian AOC which also sits at the highest elevation as well. Organic viticulture and preserving the natural essence of each vine has been the most important to Jean-Marie from the beginning.

M+Q Notes

Named after Jean-Marie’s partner’s cousin Oscar who’s a hit with the ladies. 100% Cinsault on schist soils. Created in a light, juicy and fruity style that can be served chilled if desired. Aromas and flavours of ripe cherry, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry and dried herbs. A touch of savoury spice with vibrant acidity and light tannins.
