The Story

For four generations up until 1982, the Domaine du Cros had just one hectare of vineyards and produced about 4000 bottles a year. By 1984 they had increased the vineyard size to three hectares in which Philippe and his son worked. Since 1984 they have increased to thirty hectares. Mansois, which is the local name for Fer Servadou. This is the only grape variety used in their A.O.C.(guaranteedvintage) wine.

M+Q Notes

This wine was made entirely from Fer Servadou grapes that are very common of the Gaillac region in France. The vines are 70 years old which is indicated on the bottle as‘viellesvignes’ or old vines. The wine spent 18 months in old oak barrels before bottling 2 years after harvest. The aromas are full of dark plum, blackberry and violet. There’s a black pepper note on the palate and velvety tannins.
