Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino 2013 - Piedmont, Italy

The Story

The Costanti family dates back to the 15th century in Montalcino were they first made wine in the late 1800s by Tito Costanti. Tito is ingrained in the history of the great wines of Brunello that the family still produce today. The estate is currently run by Andrea Costanti who collaborates with oenologist Vittorio Fiore. Only the best fruit is made into Andrea’s famed Brunellos which means he has a rigorous selection process during harvest time. The wines are dense and need time to soften before they truly show the top quality wines that they are.

M+Q Notes

“Delicately scented, this offers underbrush, pressed violet and wild berry aromas. It's medium-bodied and loaded with elegance, delivering crushed raspberry, Morello cherry, licorice and a hint of pipe tobacco set against taut, refined tannins. Bright acidity provides balance. It's a bit austere at this stage but will develop beautifully.” - Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast
