The Story

Château Pontoise’s history dates back to the late 1700s when the castle was originally owned by the famous Mouton Rothschild family. It changed ownership several times over the past couple centuries and has been owned by Emile Tereygeol, the first woman wine broker in the Médoc, since 1959. Later in 1978, the estate was classified as Grand Cru Bourgeois, which makes it a top site in the Médoc.

M+Q Notes

A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. All vines are between 25-50 years old on gravely soils. The wine has aromas of dark plum, black currant and earth. Rich flavours of black cherry and baked blackberry, dusty tannins and a balanced structure.
