The Story

Laurent Calmel and Jérôme Joseph are French negociants who unlike most are actually involved in the winemaking process starting from working in the vineyard. They partner with vineyards scattered throughout Languedoc-Roussillon who farm sustainably or organically. Creating wines that are representative of the cooler microclimates is their main focus. 20 years. After they started their company they acquired a Domaine where they now make their wine amongst other products they grow including lavender, honey and almonds.

M+Q Notes

This is the first vintage of Piquepoul Noir for Laurent and Jérôme. It is a wine full of juicy cherries, raspberries and redcurrant. There’s savoury notes of white pepper and soft tannins. The acidity is zingy and gives lots of energy to the palate.
