Brakenwood Rosso 2017 - Adelaide Hills, South Australia

The Story

Brakenwood owner Damon Nagel was a sommelier in Adelaide and then continued his career at various restaurants in London. He returned home to South Australia in the early 2000s, purchased a vineyard in the Hope Forest region of the Adelaide Hills and started his winery. Damon hired Hungarian winemaker Laz Horvath, who has had winemaking experience all over the world, to manage the vineyards and wine production. The vineyards are farmed with biodynamic practises and the grapes used for the wines are all estate grown and fermented with wild yeast.

M+Q Notes

This Rosso is a field blend of Pinot Noir, Syrah and Barbera made to be enjoyed young and created for ultimate drinkability. The wine has aromas of raspberry, dried herbs, red currant and complex flavours of juicy cherry, cranberry and savoury spice. There’s a bit of texture on the palate and a zippy acidity.
