Croci Lubigo 'Ortrugo' Frizzante 2015 - Emilia-Romagna, Italy

The Story

In the hills of Monterosso in Emilia-Romagna, the Croci family has been making wine on their farm since the 1930s. Respecting the environment and creating wines that express the land has always been top priority from the beginning. Current winemaker Massimiliano Croci is dedicated to preserving family traditions including creating their frizzante in the same way his grandfather did in the 1930s. Using this method, Massimiliano believes you’re able to“tastethe land.”

M+Q Notes

This frizzante is made from 100% Ortrugo grapes in the style of an unfiltered Prosecco ‘colfondo’ which ages and is bottled on the lees. The wine is complex, yeasty, earthy and very unlike traditional Prosecco. Flavours of lemon curd, red apple and crusty bread with a mineral driven finish.
